Alasdair Ambrose

About the Artist

Alasdair is a neurodiverse, Nottingham-based artist working across multiple creative disciplines. Their practice seeks to disrupt and subvert the conventions of imaginative and social engagement through transgressive and ritualised approaches to art-making. Rooted in lived experience, their work reflects a deeply personal process of encountering, interpreting, and reimagining the world.

Treating creation as an alchemical act, Alasdair ritualises their process—summoning both conscious and unconscious thought through visual and performative gestures. Their work intentionally fragments imagery and thought, breaking apart and reassembling to explore the fragility of perception and the instability of lived experience. Through this fragmented reorchestration, their practice transcends the boundaries of the personal, reaching toward a spiritual plane—a liminal space that suggests there is more beyond the visible and the known.
