'Deer Oh Deer'
Description: I could see a new character hiding inside this old unwanted ornament that I picked up from a freebie stall at the end of a car boot sale. I re-carved the figure and it became a kind of magical mythological beast that made me smile as I was reminded of a forest spirit creature from a Studio Ghibli film, and Frida Khalo’s painting Wounded Deer.
Dimensions: 15cm h x 7.5cm w x 4cm d
Medium: Discarded old wooden ornament with a touch of gold leaf, inks and wax
