Emily Arnold

About the Artist

Emily Arnold is a local artist living in Nottingham. She studied Fine Art at Loughborough University, where she fell in love with the alternative photography process of Cyanotype. Drawing inspiration from the intricate designs in nature, she uses a combination of presses flowers, photo negatives and text to make iconic blue images, using this early form of photography. With her camera, Emily enjoys capturing the beauty in nature through the seasons, whilst also collecting and learning about the edible and medicinal properties of local flora. She can also be found exploring abandoned buildings and taking photos of objects left behind. She creates ephemeral imagery and objects that invite a nostalgic response from the viewer and raise questions about what we leave behind in this world.
