'Behind the Mask'
Description: Passionate about mental health, and wanting to explore the idea of people wearing masks in order to conform to society, carry shame, blame. Often people people seem happy and smiley and you never really get to understand the full impact on what is going on under the mask. The colourful mask is reference to the happiness that is often portrayed externally. Only when we take the mask off do we start re-writing our own stories.

'We are all Equal'
Description: This is a print of the original drawing, which has been hand drawn and hand rendered in coloured pencil. Inspired by the film 'The Six Triple Eight' the 6888th Central Postal Directory an all black and multi ethnic unit of the US women's army based in Europe. The unit was led by Lt. Col. Charity Adams who is featured in my print. Adams and her battalion, which consisted of 855 women, were tasked with sorting and distributing a massive backlog of mail to US troops. They worked relentlessly to ensure that the soldiers received vital letters during their time in the war, which would of boosted morale. Lt. Col Charity Adams and her unit faced racism, discrimination and were often treated in the most despicable manner whilst serving their country. These women never gave up the fight for what they believed in, being treated as equals. I felt inspired and compelled to draw this remarkable woman.
