Lizzie lives in Beeston and aims to inspire viewers to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places and to feel joyful.

Lizzie says:

'I love colour and am very drawn to shape and pattern, in the world, in nature, in buildings, anything that, on looking, creates interesting shapes.

 

I don't want an image that could be produced by a camera or observation drawing but something that is transformed during the artistic process to create a new thing. I do take lots of photographs and use a sketchbook and these provide ideas and inspiration. Having decided on a specific image to begin, I allow instinct to take me on a journey that can result in something I had not imagined at the beginning.'
