Nikita Malik is an emerging local Nottingham artist, who is passionate about the link between art and wellbeing. As a Reiki practitioner, Holisitic Life Coach and Architecture graduate, Nikita aims to use her knowledge and creative skillset to create a unique experience for each piece of artwork.  

She created the concept of ‘Dreamscapes’ as a mindfulness tool, each piece of art serving a different purpose, using elements like colour psychology and symbolism to create feelings that inspire and uplift. Through the artwork, she creates intentional spaces that reach the subconscious mind and allow people to slow down, heal and become the freest version of themselves. 

“The subconscious mind controls 95% of your thoughts. It communicates through dreams and feelings, not words and language. Dreamscapes were created as a visualisation tools to help cultivate imaginative imagery, access the subconscious and help you focus on the feelings you desire to create.” 

Colour can signal action, influence mood and instigate physiological changes. Red for passion and love, yellow for joy and confidence, blue from wisdom and peace, and green for growth and abundance.  

Symbols naturally generate creative solutions that become a part of our identity and day to day experience. Water for flow and purification, doors for opportunity and transition, stairs for progress and growth, and gardens for fertility and growth.  

Nikita’s dreamscape commissions are an opportunity to work together to create a piece of art that supports the identity you wish to create within your home and within yourself.  

Nikita’s collection “The Space in Between” explores the idea of a sacred space between worlds. Maybe a moment of calm in a turbulent world or the space between one’s old and new self. The pieces act as portals, a place of healing and transformation.  

Imara is delighted to be showcasing this piece of abstract realism created intentionally by Nikita Malik for our charity auction, of which Nikita wrote the following:

Through facing my own challenges in the last few years, it has only really felt like this year where I’ve really been able to open up bloom.
